The viprin are fast fast herd animals created by the Tnuctipun to be used by their Thrint slavemasters. Created to be used as food, the Tnuctipun secretly used them to cause the economic collapse of the Thrint Slaver Empire. Creating mutant breeds that ran faster than normal viprin led to the collapse of the viprin herding business in favor of races gambled on by their Trintun slavemasters, bringing economic collapse to the Thrint economy prior to the Tnuctip Revolt.
The modified racing viprin has a narrower head with the nose ending in a point with a nostril looking like a single jet nacelle for optimal oxygen intake and microscopically smooth skin to reduce wind resistance. Its digestive system was taken out as extra weight and replaced with more muscles and lung tissue. In place of a digestive system it has a streamlined sucker of mouth that admits predigested pap directly into the bloodstream for nourishment.[1]
